Penn Launches Supplier Payment Terms Pilot for Diverse and Local Small Businesses

As part of Penn’s ongoing commitment to supplier diversity and inclusion, the University has introduced a pilot program to extend ‘immediate pay’ payment terms to its diversity suppliers. This new modification positively impacts approximately 1,000 suppliers that do business with Penn (minority, woman, veteran, LGBTQ+, and other classifications) that qualify as diverse suppliers.

Penn Procurement Re-Launches Program Aimed at Local and Diverse Catering Companies
As part of Penn Procurement Services’ ongoing commitment to its Supplier & Diversity Program, a strategic-sourcing initiative resulted in an updated portfolio of Preferred Contract Caterers. In alignment with University priorities, key award criteria included sustainability, supplier diversity, utilization of local food sources, and an assessment of each supplier’s ability to provide and serve high-quality food safely and in a cost-competitive manner.

Penn Procurement Services recently announced the inaugural recipients of the Penn Supplier Diversity & Economic Inclusion Impact Awards. Two awards were bestowed, one to a team and another to an individual, and the recipients were honored for their outstanding contributions in driving impact in the area of supplier diversity and inclusion.

On July 28, the University of Pennsylvania launched the Fueling Business Growth campaign, a new supplier diversity and inclusion initiative strategically enhancing a long-held priority to provide local, diverse, and minority-owned enterprises with increased opportunities to conduct business with Penn.
